Irrigation techniques

Most of the world's population lives and works in urban areas. A green space makes people happier and healthier, and it has a positive effect on the environment. All this leads to a strong increase in urban greenery. Maintaining this requires smart systems, which accurately dose and measure water and nutrients.

Nutrient release

Like a human, plants need several factors to stay alive; water, light and oxygen. A plant not only uses water, light and oxygen but also absorbs minerals and nutrients contained in the soil or substrate with its roots.

Water reuse and treatment

Rainwater is free and available in sufficient quantities. Sustainable use of water also means that rainwater should no longer be seen as waste, but as a source of water. So everyone benefits from investing in rainwater harvesting and reuse. Moreover, rainwater is even better than tap water for a number of applications.

Frost monitoring

Natural rainfall in greenery in urban areas does not provide sufficient water supply during the winter period. Moreover, the changing climate makes for mild winters, which sometimes results in some very nice sunny days during the winter months. As a result, there is water evaporation from plants in winter and there is a need to continue watering between periods of frost when temperatures allow.

Web-based control and monitoring

For web-based control, measurement and monitoring of soil moisture at the green project, among other things, we recommend working with an iMC Box, which stands for 'Irrigation Moisture Control' (iMC).

Water retention management

Water retention management is mostly based on a smart roof weir placed over the rainwater discharge on the roof. The roof weir analyses current local weather data and determines, based on the current storage capacity, whether the predicted precipitation can be stored. Therefore, for the system to work, it is important to subscribe to correct management.

Installations for water features and ponds

A pond is an atmosphere-enhancing element not to be missed in an outdoor space. Moreover, a pond provides additional decentralised water storage of rainwater in the project and thus increases the climate-adaptive effect of an outdoor space. Thanks to the evaporation of water, it will have a cooling effect.
