Frost monitoring

Bevroren gras

Green projects in urban areas are designed in a variety of ways, e.g. green facades, planters under canopies and roof gardens. Natural rainfall then does not provide sufficient water supply during the winter period. Moreover, the changing climate makes for mild winters, which sometimes results in some very nice sunny days during the winter months. As a result, there is water evaporation from plants in winter and there is a need to continue watering between periods of frost when temperatures allow.

Automatic including compressor

To switch it all on and off manually is far too labour intensive. This is why the irrigation systems are modularly expandable with an automatic frost monitor incl. compressor, so that the green project can also be supplied with water in the winter months and is automatically emptied by the compressor in frosty conditions. Next to the irrigation unit in the technical compartment will be a low-noise air compressor, which will switch on based on a preset temperature and empty all irrigation groups according to the programme. The system can be remotely managed and monitored via the IMC Box.

Overview

  • Adding the frost protection compressor module to the irrigation unit fully automatically makes the irrigation system completely frost-free when frost occurs by blowing the pipes empty with a compressor.
  • The switch-on and switch-off temperature is fully adjustable via the IMC Box.
  • The run time per irrigation group is fully adjustable via the IMC Box.
  • If automatic frost monitoring is active, automatic irrigation is automatically interrupted.
  • If the temperature is acceptable again, the irrigation programme will automatically resume. The temperature sensor of the IMC Box V2 is used to record the temperature.
